Maier Family Pharmacy, along with franchise partner ConvaCare, has an expanded inventory of Home Medical Equipment.  Wheelchairs (lightweight to extra-wide), walkers (standard to deluxe), hospital beds, commodes, canes and all sorts of daily living aids to help improve the quality of life for our patients.

Maier Family Pharmacy and ConvaCare Services are Medicare Accredited suppliers of Home Medical Equipment.  This means we have met or exceeded Medicare's supplier standards and can service Medicare patients and have the ability to file Medicare Part B claims for Medical and Respiratory equipment and services.

What's covered, what's not...

Most home medical equipment is covered by Medicare and Medicaid with a doctor's order and a qualifying diagnosis.  Home medical equipment is usually applied to any outstanding deductible before actual payment is made.  Coverage by private insurance plans varies by carrier and plan.  Check with your insurance provider to check what they cover...

Note: Patients in skilled care facilities will not be covered for most Medicare Part B equipment.

Usually Covered:

Respiratory Equipment (Home/Portable Oxygen, CPAP, Nebulizers)

Ambulatory Aids (Canes, Walkers, Wheelchairs, Rollators, Lift Mechanism)

Diabetic/Therapeutic Shoes (1pr/year with Diabetes diagnosis)

Hospital Beds, Patient Lifts, Commodes, Compression Hosiery

Usually Not Covered:

Bathroom safety equipment such as;

Raised Toilet Seats, Toilet Safety Rails, Grab Bars, Bath Bench/Seats, Shower Stools, Diabetic Socks, Bath Mats, Egg Crate Foam Cushions, Pillows, Pulse Oximeters, Mild Compression Stockings, Certain Braces / Supports, Walker Glides, Walker Trays, Bed Pans, Non-standard (upgraded) Equipment

Orders for home medical equipment must contain the following information to be valid:

Patient Name

Patient Date-of-Birth

Patient Height & Weight

Description of Equipment Being Ordered

Qualifying Diagnosis

Length of Need

Prescriber's Signature

Note: Some equipment may require additional qualification information before we can file an insurance claim.
