Maier Family Pharmacy only services patients in Monona, Woodbury, Crawford, and Ida Counties in Western Iowa. To find a Dr. Comfort dealer near you, visit www.drcomfort.com and click Find A Footwear Professional. Diabetic Shoes
If you have diabetes, you know the importance of proper footwear and care. Diabetic shoes are engineered to be deeper and standard shoes to accommodate orthotic inserts. They are also less likely to have seams that rub or irritate. Easy Velcro closures are available on most styles to aid in putting your shoes on. Some Velcro closures are concealed behind the laces to give the shoe a more traditional look.
Medicare, in most cases, will pay for 1 pair of diabetic shoes and 3 pairs of inserts for patients diagnosed with Type I or Type II diabetes each year. If you have a Medicare supplement plan and have met your yearly Part B deductible, you may have little to no out-of-pocket expense. If you've had an amputation you know how difficult it can be to find shoes that fit properly. We can get inserts with toe fillers built in. Even if you haven't had an amputation, custom inserts will help guarantee a better fit and a more comfortable shoe.
